BERLIN — Distribs in the U.K. and Japan have picked up Robert Dornhelm’s “La Boheme” ahead of this year’s American Film Market.
London-based Axiom Films nabbed U.K. rights to the pic, which stars the operatic dream team of soprano Anna Netrebko and tenor Rolando Villazon, for a December release.
In Japan, Star Sands/Theaters Tokyo will roll out the film in January.
The Unitel Classica and MR Film production sold earlier this year to Palace for Australia and New Zealand and to Hollywood Classic for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
NFP/Warner is distributing the opulent feature film, about the fatally ill Mimi and her poor artist lover Rodolfo, in Germany, while Constantin Film will release it in Austria.
Beta Cinema is handling international sales for “La Boheme.”
