Imagi deals for ‘Astro Boy’ toy rights

Studio unveils new merchandising agreements

Toon house Imagi Studios unveiled Tuesday a series of merchandising agreements for its 2009 tentpole release “Astro Boy.”Jazwares, which handles the MegaMan and Streetfighter line of action figures, will be master toy licensee for “Astro Boy,” while IDW Publishing will handle comicbook and graphic novel adaptations of the film.

The animation studio has also inked a deal with games developer D3Publisher to develop videogames based on the property that will be released to coincide with pic’s October release.
