Josh Brolin, Kristin Scott Thomas feted

Josh Brolin and Kristin Scott Thomas will receive Hollywood Actor and Actress of the Year honors from the Hollywood Film Festival, while Dustin Hoffman will get the career achievement honor.

Brolin’s star turn in “W.” opens this weekend, and he’ll also be seen opposite Sean Penn in Gus Van Sant’s “Milk,” which bows Nov. 26. Thomas toplines Philippe Claudel’s “I’ve Loved You So Long,” unspooling Oct. 24.

Hoffman, who lent his voice to “Kung Fu Panda,” will next appear in “Last Chance Harvey” opening Dec. 26.

The Hollywood Awards Gala, co-chaired by Paul Haggis, will take place Oct. 27 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The 12th annual Hollywood Film Festival runs Oct. 22-27 at the ArcLight Theaters in Hollywood.
