Shyama Friedenson has joined Paramount Vantage as senior VP of international marketing, reteaming with Vantage prexy Nick Meyer.
Friedenson was most recently prexy of international marketing for Lionsgate. Meyer was prexy of Lionsgate Intl. before ankling to join Vantage.
Friedenson will work with Vantage international sales prexy Alex Walton in growing the specialty unit’s international division. She’s manage the development of international marketing campaigns, publicity initiatives and distribution strategies for Vantage releases.
Friedenson also will collaborate on the marketing and distribution of international titles moving through Paramount Pictures Intl.’s pipeline.
She’ll report directly to Meyer.
At Cannes, Friedenson is a member of the team selling Michael Moore’s follow-up to “Fahrenheit 9/11” that Vantage and Overture Films are co-producing. Overture is distributing the film domestically, while Vantage will handle international.
At Lionsgate, Friedenson oversaw the international marketing and publicity campaigns for numerous titles from the production stage through their international release, including “Hotel Rwanda,” “Monster’s Ball” and “Amores perros.”
