Film i Vast to invest in 28 films

Swedish studio has $8.5 million to spend

Swedish company Film i Vast will invest $8.5 million in 28 productions this year.

Among the pics are Lars von Trier’s upcoming “Antichrist” and several international co-productions.

Film i Vast head of development Bengt Toll said, “This Cannes is very important for us. With two films shot in the region, ‘Les Grandes Personnes’ and ‘Involuntary,’ in the official program here, there is a lot of extra attention on Film i Vast.”

Many of the productions will be either shot in and around Trollhattan and Gothenburg, or have the post production done in the Film i Vast studios in Trollhattan, including “Alarm,” with Irish Venus Productions and Swedish Gotafilm as partners.
