DSC to support intensive film program

LONDON- Dubai Studio City (DSC) has pledged its support for the Manhattan Film Academy’s Dubai Intensive Film Production Program, which runs Jan. 22 through to May.

DSC is volunteering complimentary use of the TECOM Investment Center as well as support on promoting the campaign to aspiring filmmakers in the U.A.E.

The Manhattan Film Academy — a U.S.-based group comprised of American and European filmmakers, will be offering intensive hands-on production workshops.

“Studio City’s affiliation with the Manhattan Film Academy is an important step to harness local and regional film talent for the creation of a local film industry,” said Studio City director Jamal al-Sharif.

A number of luminaries from the film world will be lending their expertise to the five-month long workshops, including Oscar-winning actress Ellen Burstyn and Oscar-nominated helmer Agnieszka Holland.
