Producer Jeremy Thomas leads experienced team

Jeremy Thomas

Chairman, principal shareholder

His producing career stretches back 30 years, collaborating with auteurs all around the globe — Nicolas Roeg, Nagisa Oshima, Stephen Frears, Bernardo Bertolucci, David Cronenberg, Terry Gilliam — and tirelessly cultivating fresh talent. Canny dealmaking, particularly when it comes to foreign sales, has enabled Thomas’ Recorded Picture Co. to earn significant revenue streams from its challenging films. Thomas won the picture Oscar in 1988 for Bertolucci’s “The Last Emperor.”

Tim Haslam

CEO, shareholder

Earned his spurs as a salesman working for Guy East, first at Majestic Films on such pics as “Dances With Wolves” and then at Intermedia. Took time out for a couple of years before coming to run HanWay in late 2003.

Peter Watson

Deputy chairman, shareholder

Irish-born Watson joined RPC from Guinness Mahon bank in 1994 and was a prime mover in the creation of HanWay. He became CEO of RPC in 1999, and remains the company’s principal dealmaker and corporate strategist.

Stephan Mallman

COO, shareholder

German-born expert on European co-production worked at Oasis Pictures, Moving Pictures Intl. and Constantin Films before joining RPC in 1994 as a business affairs exec.

Thorsten Schumacher

Director of worldwide sales, general manager

German-born former music journalist worked in film production, development and acquisitions in the U.S. before joining HanWay in 2003.

Jonathan Lynch-Staunton

Director of marketing and distribution

Lynch-Staunton learned his trade at Majestic and J&M Entertainment before joining HanWay in 2000.
