Hungarian film industry in focus at forum
MOSCOW — Hungarian industryites will be in London on Thursday to promote production in the central European country.
Part of “Check the Gate” — a three-day showcase celebrating 100 years of Hungarian film, taking place at the Curzon Mayfair Thursday through Sunday — the one-day professional forum for Anglo-Hungarian filmmaking will be at the nearby Hungarian cultural center in Covent Garden.
The forum, organized with the assistance of leading production, facility and government agencies, will detail the benefits and ease of shooting and post producing under the country’s new tax relief system, organizers say.
It will present the latest updates in the Hungarian production tax rebate system, an introduction to the work of the recently opened Korda film studios near Budapest and a panel discussion on the best ways of working together, featuring representatives from the U.K. Film Council and Hungarian consultants.
