Producer to pen, shop adaptation

Ehren Kruger will adapt Boston Teran’s “God Is a Bullet” and shop it around town.

The busy scribe-producer is hoping for the same result he achieved last year when he paired with StillKing Films to pick up Jennifer Egan’s supernatural novel “The Keep.” It was set up at Rogue in June for Kruger to write and produce.

“Bullet” follows the journey of a California lawman forced to go undercover to rescue his daughter from the ruthless gang of criminals who’ve abducted her.

Kruger will co-produce the pic with producing partner Daniel Bobker and Bradley Bell.

Bell, exec producer and head writer on the CBS soap “The Bold and the Beautiful,” purchased the film rights to the book for mid-six figures. He’s the son of the creators of the sudser. “Bullet” becomes Bell’s first foray into features.

Kruger penned the “Transformers” sequel for DreamWorks and Paramount and “Torso” for David Fincher, also set up at Par. Kruger and Bobker produced “The Skeleton Key” at Universal and “The Brothers Grimm” at Dimension, both based on the scribe’s scripts.
