Film can now compete for Sitges' Gold Melies

STOCKHOLM — Dutch film “Links,” helmed by Froukje Tan and produced by Maarten van der Leeden for production company Fighting Windmills, has won the Silver Melies at the Fantastic Film Festival in Lund.

Win means the film will have a competition slot at October’s Sitges Film Festival to compete for the Gold Melies.

Argentina’s “Because There Are Things You Never Forget,” helmed by Lucas Figueroa, took the prize for short.

The aud nod went to Tarsem Singh’s “The Fall.”
