Davis digs Jeff Morris’ comedy pitch

'Ferris Bueller'-esque story likely to land at Fox

Davis Entertainment has scooped up an untitled comedy pitch by Jeff Morris for low- against mid-six figures.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the story is described as being in the vein of “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”

John Davis bought the pitch from his discretionary fund at 20th Century Fox, where the project will likely land.

Project marks the first sale for Morris, who previously wrote and directed the indie film “You Did What?,” which won the Orson Welles Award for first-time director at the 2006 Tiburon Film Festival.

He is repped by Zero Gravity Management.
