Director to receive prize at Gothenburg fest

STOCKHOLM — Johan Kling’s “Darling” has been named best Swedish film of 2007 by the Swedish Assn. of Film Critics.

Kling will receive the prize at the upcoming fest in Gothenburg.

The dark comedy, about a young girl who longs for a more meaningful relationship than the superficial ones she has with her friends, has six nominations in the country’s Golden Bugs Awards, which take place in Stockholm Jan. 21.
