Norwegian fest to take place on cruise ship
STOCKHOLM — Norwegian actress Gorild Mauseth and her Italian husband producer Tommaso Mottola have found a way to combine the spectacular views of the Norwegian coast with a film fest: a festival on the cruise ship Trollfjord.
The nine-day event starting March 5 would start in Trondheim head to Kirkenes and back.
“This will combine the best of my two worlds,” Mauseth says. “There will be new Italian films screened, there will be Italian food and wine, there will be workshops, discussions, master classes.”
Budget for the fest is $900,000 and Mottola, head of the fest in Capalbio in Tuscany, says the funding has been secured from the Italian side.
Truls Kontny from the Norwegian Film Commission said, that if the first outing is a success, fest could become a permanent event with new international partners each year. For the first three years, however, it will be a strictly Italian-Norwegian affair.
