Italian drama finds distributor

Italian drama “Days and Clouds” (Giomi e Nuvole), by Silvio Soldini (“Bread and Tulips,” “Burning in the Wind”), will be distributed in North America by Film Movement with plans for an early June bow.

Pic tells the tale of a wealthy couple whose marriage crumbles when they adjust to a sudden loss of income.

“Days” was an official selection at the 2007 editions of the Toronto, Rome and London fests and the 2008 Giornate Cinematografiche di Soletta, Suisse. It was produced by Lionello Cerri from a screenplay by Doriana Leondeff, Francesco Piccolo, Federica Pontremoli and Soldini.

Deal was negotiated by Film Movement prexy Adley Gartenstein; Rebeca Conget, veep of acquisitions and distribution; and Adriana Chiesa, of Adriana Chiesa Enterprises.

“One of our aims at Film Movement is to follow the career of directors and talent that we like and respect, so it is a real honor to be able to add another beautiful film by Silvio Soldini to our collection,” Gartenstein said.
