Cinetic, 6 Sales handle ‘Rage’

Sally Potter film stars Law, Dench

Cinetic Media and 6 Sales are teaming to handle worldwide sales on fashion house-set “Rage,” directed by Sally Potter and toplining Jude Law, Judi Dench, Dianne Wiest, John Leguizamo and Steve Buscemi.

Cinetic will handle U.S. sales. It will partner with Madrid-based 6 Sales in jointly handling international.

An expose of the lives of employees at a New York fashion house, “Rage” is shot in cell-phone style over the space of seven days as an accident on a fashion show runway sparks a murder investigation.

“With ‘Rage,’ I want us all to laugh about beauty and success, disappointment and failure,” said Potter, whose previous films include “Yes” and “The Tango Lesson.”

Pic is produced by Christopher Sheppard and Andrew Fierberg and will be completed in September.

The alliance follows former agent Bart Walker’s arrival at Cinetic in September to start a management division. Division assembles financing and film packages for client filmmakers and investors. Potter is a longtime Walker client.

As international financing becomes increasingly important in global film-making, the alliance with 6 Sales allows Walker to take advantage of his international relationships as Cinetic dips a toe into international sales waters.

6 sales co-managing partner Enrique Posner arranged a portion of financing for Potter’s Simona Benzaquin-produced “The Tango Lesson.”
