Christian Bruno wins HBO fellowship

Documentary filmmaker receives prize for work

Christian Bruno will receive the first HBO Documentary Film/Film Independent Fellowship for his work on documentary films.

Bruno, who is currently directing the feature-length doc “Strand: A Natural History of Cinema,” will receive a $10,000 production grant from the fellowship.

Film Independent also announced the 10 films and the individuals who worked on them to be selected for its 6th annual Fast Track program. Sponsored by Eastman Kodak, Fast Track connects participants with people who can help move their projects forward.

Participants will be presented these opportunities during the Los Angeles Film Festival, which runs June 19-29.
