Buresi joins European Film Market

Exec replaces Karen Arikian

COLOGNE — The Berlin Film Festival has tapped Catherine Buresi as deputy director of the European Film Market.

She succeeds Karen Arikian, who became exec director of the Hamptons Film Festival in March.

French-born Buresi was chief exec of European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs from 2002 to 2005.

Since then, she has served as a consultant to several film events, including the Berlinale Co-Production Market, the Cannes Market and the Dubai Film Festival.

She also was team leader on the Euromed film and TV program, responsible for developing partnerships between Europe and the Middle East.
