TORONTO — Jamie Babbit will helm Myriad Pictures’ “Breaking the Girl,” set to lense in Vancouver this November. Brittany Snow (“Hairspray”) is in talks to star.
Script by Mark Distefano and Guinevere Turner is described as a sexy thriller set among conniving college students. Babbit stepped into the indie scene with the comedy “But I’m a Cheerleader” in 2000. Her last film, “The Quiet,” was released by Sony Classics in 2005.
Santa Monica-based Myriad will preem Bruno Barreto’s drama “Last Stop 174” at the Toronto Film Festival this week.
