Yorns lure Schwartz from the Firm

Snoop Dogg's manager joins new company

Rick and Julie Yorn have firmed up their new management venture with another key member of the Firm.

Company has hired Constance Schwartz, the manager of Snoop Dogg and an architect of numerous merchandising deals for Firm-repped talent.

Schwartz, who had been senior VP of strategic marketing at the Firm, is the third member of the management company to leave since Rick Yorn dissolved his partnership with Firm co-founder Jeff Kwatinetz.

She joins Dave Baram, former Firm president and chief operating officer, co-founder of investment fund VMG Equity Partners and manager of magician Criss Angel.

Also joining the Yorn venture is Jennifer Killoran, who co-manages Leonardo DiCaprio with Yorn. Killoran steers DiCaprio’s production company, Appian Way.

The Yorns confirmed their exit from the Firm last month but haven’t formally announced the formation of their management company (Daily Variety, Oct. 20).

Schwartz joined the Firm in 2001 to secure partnerships and sponsorship opportunities for the management company’s music and movie talent roster. She orchestrated such deals as a Vitamin Water endorsement for Kelly Clarkson and aligned Enrique Iglesias with Pepsi, Doritos and Tommy Hilfiger.

Schwartz then became lead manager for Snoop Dogg and helped broker endorsement deals for the hip-hop artist that included Landy Cognac, Orbit Gum, Chrysler and T-Mobile, as well as the launch of the branded clothing line Rich and Infamous.

Schwartz also is exec producer of the E! reality show “Snoop Dogg’s Father Hood.”

Snoop Dogg will follow Schwartz to the new venture as a client.
