Film stars Rockwell as girls basketball coach
“Grace Is Gone” helmer James Strouse is set to write and direct “The Winning Season,” an indie comedy centering on a high school girls basketball coach.
Sam Rockwell, Emma Roberts and Rob Corddry are starring.
Pic tracks a divorced, down-on-his-luck coach (Rockwell) who makes a bid for redemption by coaching his daughter’s team.
Gotham-based Gigi Prods. and Plum Pictures are producing.
The film will shoot in October in the New York area.
Strouse’s credits also include “Lonesome Jim,” directed by Steve Buscemi.
