Sony Pictures Classics gets ‘Loud’

Studio acquires rights to electric guitar doc

Sony Pictures Classics will amp up with Davis Guggenheim’s electric guitar doc “It Might Get Loud,” featuring the Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White.

SPC has picked up rights to North America, Latin America, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Conceived and produced by Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull, pic profiles rock’s enduring symbol by exploring the creative process and generational differences of the three musicians.

Pickup marks the second music documentary nabbed by SPC from the Toronto Film Festival. The distrib also took the “A Chorus Line” docu “Every Little Step” (Daily Variety, Sept. 15).
