Palm Springs honors Clint Eastwood

Filmmaker given Career Achievement award

Clint Eastwood will be honored with the Career Achievement award at the 20th Annual Palm Springs International Film Festival on Jan. 6.

The awards gala will be held at the Palm Springs Convention Center, hosted by “Entertainment Tonight’s” Mary Hart.

Eastwood stars in and helmed the upcoming Warner Bros. pic, “Gran Torino” and also helmed this year’s “Changeling.”

Following “Torino,” he will produce and direct a drama starring Matt Damon, set in post-apartheid South Africa where Morgan Freeman will portray Nelson Mandela.

The fest runs from Jan 6-19.
