Nick Nolte joins ‘My Own Love Song’

Olivier Dahan to write and direct drama

Nick Nolte has joined the cast of “My Own Love Song,” penned and helmed by Olivier Dahan (“La Vie en rose”).

“Love Song,” which started shooting last month in Kansas and Louisiana, stars Renee Zellweger and Forest Whitaker. Story follows a wheelchair-confined former singer and her friend during an enlightening road trip to Memphis.

Former EuropaCorp head of sales Gregoire Melin’s sales shingle Kinology has nabbed the international rights.

The Paris-based company has also picked up international rights to Andrew Niccol’s “The Cross,” which starts shooting in May in Australia.

Launched six months ago, Kinology previously snatched up international rights to live-action pic “Upside Down,” helmed by Juan Solanas and produced by Aton Soumache’s Onyx Films. The $35 million pic is a futuristic love story in the vein of “Romeo and Juliet.”
