Lifetime has cast Brittany Murphy and Jason Lewis to star in “Nora Roberts’ Tribute,” the last of four telepic adaptations of the author’s novels the cabler has set for 2009.
Thriller, which will go into production in November, will star Murphy as a former child star who finds mystery and intrigue when she moves into the Virginia farm left to her by her grandmother, a legendary actress.
Pic is produced by Mandalay Television and Stephanie Germain Prods., with Peter Guber and Germain as exec producers.
The channel also has Roberts’ “Midnight Bayou,” “Northern Lights” and “High Noon” set for next year.
Four previous adaptations of Roberts’ novels bowing in 2007 garnered more than 34 million viewers for Lifetime.
