'Graham' nabs Northern Lights prize
LONDON — Emerging Northern English helmers David and Keith Lynch, and Brad Watson scooped $370,000 ($245,000) at the Big Pitch, a pitching forum hosted by the Northern Lights Film Fest Saturday.
The trio, alongside producer Simon Thomas, won the coin after a 15-minute pitch for their non-linear psychological thriller “Different Shades of Graham” impressed judges, including Clare Binns, programming director at arthouse chain City Screen. The helmers will direct an act each.
Film receives at least $220,000 in production finance from micro-studio Moxie Makers, a post-production deal with Molinare, guaranteed U.K. distribution via Soda Makers and international sales rep with Moxiehouse Entertainment.
The Northern Lights Film Festival, which focuses on breakthrough cinema from Northern Europe, closed this weekend.
The Big Pitch is backed by training org Skillset.
