Travis' political thriller traces fall of Apartheid

LONDON — William Hurt, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jonny Lee Miller will topline political thriller “Endgame,” the latest pic by “Vantage Point” helmer Peter Travis.

Pic, which also stars Mark Strong, Derek Jacobi and Timothy West, tells the story of the secret talks between Afrikaner members of South Africa’s white rule government and ANC exiles that helped secure the release of Nelson Mandela and end Apartheid in South Africa.

Robert Harvey’s book “The Fall of Apartheid” is project’s principal source material.

Paula Milne (“The Politician’s Wife”) has penned the script. David Aukin (“Mrs Henderson Presents”) and Channel 4’s head of drama Liza Marshall are exec producing, while Hal Vogel (“Britz”) is producing for Daybreak Pictures.

Pre-sales are being handled at Cannes by Penny Wolf on behalf of Target Entertainment.

Pic will shoot in U.K. and South Africa.
