Exec to head production and development

The Film Department has named veteran exec Scott Nemes as VP of production and development.

Nemes reports to Robert Katz, the company’s president of production. He most recently ran the film division for Adelstein Prods. and served as exec producer for Dimension’s “Black Christmas.”

Nemes also worked with director James Mangold and helped develop “Walk the Line.” He also worked at Immortal Entertainment, where he co-produced “My Baby’s Daddy” for Miramax, and with director Penny Marshall.

Nemes got his start in the entertainment industry as a child actor, appearing as a regular “It’s Garry Shandling’s Show” and “The Wonder Years.”
