Celluloid Dreams sells Toronto films

'Walking,' 'Valentino' find buyers

BIARRITZ, France — France’s Celluloid Dreams has announced major territory sales for two Toronto players, Kore-eda Hirokazu’s “Still Walking” and Matt Tyrnauer’s “Valentino: The Last Emperor.”

A drama turning on a middle-class Japanese family, Kore-eda’s “Walking” has been sold to Pyramide for France, Trigon for Switzerland and Folkets Bio for Sweden.

The Gallic sale came after a bidding war for French-speaking territories, Celluloid Dreams reports.

“Valentino,” a profile of the creativity and high glamour of the haute couture designer, has been taken by Hopscotch for Australia.
