Lou Berney to adapt Peter Ferry's novel

Castle Rock Entertainment has acquired feature rights to Peter Ferry’s “Travel Writing” and is developing it as a vehicle for Rob Reiner to direct.

The novel, a love story set against the backdrop of a murder investigation, was brought to Castle Rock by Alan Greisman, who will produce along with Reiner and Castle Rock.

The novel, marking Ferry’s debut, centers on an English teacher’s amateur investigation into a traffic fatality. Ferry recently retired as a high school English teacher.

Lou Berney, who sold “Tangled Up in Blue” to Focus, is adapting the book.

“Travel Writing” reteams Reiner and Greisman, who collaborated on Warner Bros.’ “The Bucket List” with Reiner directing and Greisman producing.
