Fact-based spy thriller written by Jeremy Gough
2929 Prods. has acquired “A Forest of Mirrors,” a fact-based spy thriller script by Jeremy Gough that Anand Tucker will direct.
Andrew Lauren and P. Jennifer Dana of Andrew Lauren Prods. will produce with Andy Paterson, Tucker’s Archer Street Films partner. 2929 owners Todd Wagner and Mark Cuban will be exec producers along with 2929 prexy Marc Butan.
Inspired by a true story, the film is a ’60s spy thriller about a CIA agent who travels to Guatemala to investigate his brother’s death and uncovers a conspiracy that threatens to turn the tide of the Cold War. The drama was developed by Lauren Prods. (“The Squid and the Whale”). 2929 will finance.
“Jeremy’s script is a rare beast, both a perfect thriller and deeply emotional experience,” said Tucker, who directed “Hilary and Jackie” and “Shopgirl.”
Said Lauren: “I’d been searching for a ’60s spy thriller that would parallel our current political climate, and found it in Jeremy’s script.”
2929 just wrapped an adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s “The Road” with Viggo Mortensen and Charlize Theron.
