Woody Allen film gets sustained ovation in Cannes

Despite a heavy downpour, Bob and Harvey Weinstein were in high spirits after the red-carpet gala for Woody Allen‘s sexy romantic comedy “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” which nabbed a sustained ovation at the Palais. At the after-party on the soggy 3.14 Plage, Allen, Penelope Cruz, Rebecca Hall and Bono huddled in a corner banquette. Many partygoers agreed that “Vicky Cristina” might ride the Zeitgeist, delivering a light divertissement during dark times.
