Rock Hall of Fame lights Fuse in deal

Network pacts for exclusive broadcast rights

Music net Fuse has inked a three-year deal to be the exclusive broadcast and online partner of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Centerpiece of the pact is Fuse’s airing of the Hall of Fame’s annual induction ceremony, which next takes place on April 4, live from Cleveland’s Public Hall.

For the Hall of Fame, the move represents an opportunity to put the ceremony in front of younger eyeballs, as Fuse’s demo is easily a generation younger than that of boomer-friendly VH1 and VH1 Classic, which had previously held the broadcast rights.

Nominees for induction next year include Metallica, Run DMC, the Stooges, Chic and Wanda Jackson.

It’s been an acquisitive year for the Rainbow Media cabler, as Fuse earlier locked up the rights to exclusive coverage of the Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Voodoo Experience rockfests.
