Oliver Stone’s ‘W.’ hits New York

Controversial film screens at VIP event

After last week’s star-studded Los Angeles screening, Lionsgate brought Oliver Stone‘s “W.” to Gotham on Tuesday for yet another VIP-loaded event.

At the SRO Metropolitan Club bash following pic’s Ziegfeld screening, stars Josh Brolin and Thandie Newton said the Internet played a significant role in researching their characters.

“I watched lots and lots of YouTube to get acquainted with the way (Condoleezza Rice) operates,” Newton said.

Brolin said, “I had a total and complete horrific fear of playing this character, so I did as much research as possible. I even had videos on loop that I would watch first thing every morning.”
