Maryse Alberti

Cinematographer, 'The Wrestler'

In a profession that, after 100 years, is still virtually a men’s club, Alberti long ago established herself as a top d.p., equally at home shooting documentaries (“Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room” and “Crumb,” the latter of which won her the Sundance Cinematography Award in ’95) and features (“Velvet Goldmine” and her latest, “The Wrestler,” starring Mickey Rourke and directed by Darren Aronofsky). French-born Alberti moved to New York as an au pair at 19 and later studied at the AFI. She got an Emmy nom in 2006.
