Actress, 'I've Loved You So Long'

The English beauty who graced “The Other Boleyn Girl” and “I’ve Loved You So Long” has always excelled at playing passionate if enigmatic women hidden behind an elegant but often slightly frosty persona. “A dark, complex, strange creature,” said Anthony Minghella, who directed her to a best actress Oscar nom for “The English Patient.” At an age now (48) where most actresses struggle for work, the Paris-based Scott Thomas, who made her feature debut in 1986 opposite Prince in “Under the Cherry Moon,” is busier than ever with several upcoming films, including “Bronte” and “Confessions of a Shopaholic.”
