Costume designer, 'Happy-Go-Lucky'

The bewitching, erotic and symbolic emerald-green dress adorning Keira Knightley in “Atonement.” The boho ensembles worn by Sally Hawkins in “Happy-Go-Lucky.” These are just two of the crucial visual elements that British costume maven Durran has brought to her frequent collaborations with directors Joe Wright and Mike Leigh. The twice-Oscar-nominated Durran started as the wardrobe mistress on Stanley Kubrick’s “Eyes Wide Shut” and graduated to assistant costume designer on “Lara Croft: Tomb Raider” before taking flight on Leigh’s “All or Nothing” and “Vera Drake.
