Supporting actor, 'The Visitor'

Sleiman brings humor and heart to his role as a Syrian drummer detained for illegally entering the U.S. in “The Visitor.” A lot of it has to do with the similarities between the Lebanon native’s own life and that of his character — both grew up in Michigan and pursued arts in New York City. Sleiman landed the part of Tarek Khalil in the Thomas McCarthy film after several short stints on TV shows, including an episode of “ER” and a three-episode arc in “24.”
