TV’s biggest stars and execs tuned in for a good cause Saturday at the second annual Evening Before party, which raised nearly $1.5 million for the Motion Picture & Television Fund.
While there weren’t yet any winners or losers at the Century City bash, there were plenty of schmoozers at the pre-Emmy fund-raiser.
NBC’s Ben Silverman brought along his mom and introduced her to fellow partygoers including J.J. Abrams and WMA’s Jim Wiatt. Jeffrey Katzenberg chatted with Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson while “Mad Men’s” Jon Hamm had a drink with Jimmy Kimmel. Later, Candice Bergen scoped out the Todd English buffet and Patricia Arquette urged friends to try the churros. Outside, Mary Tyler Moore posed for red-carpet photos with the Target dog while inside, Ricky Gervais had a laugh with John Krasinski.
And in fact, there was already one proud winner, Kathy Griffin, who received her second Creative Arts Primetime Emmy the weekend before and reminded guests throughout the night by greeting everyone with, “Hi, did you know I have two Emmys?”
