Writer/director to receive filmmaker award

Hyphenate Bill Condon has been tapped to receive the filmmaker award at the Cinema Audio Society’s 44th awards ceremony on Saturday.

Condon’s previous projects include “Dreamgirls” and “Kinsey” — serving on each as both scribe and helmer — and “Chicago,” for which he wrote the screenplay.

Music scorer and sound mixer Dennis Sands also will receive the CAS lifetime achievement award.

Award show will take place at the Millennium Biltmore hotel in Los Angeles.
