Producer Jon Avnet and Robert Rosen, dean of the UCLA School of Film and Television, will receive special achievement awards from the Caucus for Producers, Writers and Directors.
The honors will be presented at the org’s third annual Caucus Foundation fundraiser for student filmmakers on Aug. 2 at the Hollywood Renaissance Hotel.
Avnet was singled out for his work in K-12 education at the American Film Institute.
Rosen has expanded his school’s efforts to reflect advances in technology and to foster creative talent, according to foundation and event chair Chuck Fries.
Avnet and Rosen “are role models for the Caucus Foundation program,” caucus chair Dennis Doty said.
Since 2001, the program has distributed $520,000 in grants and awards to 69 student filmmakers to aid in completion of their thesis films
The awards will be the highlight of an industrywide Caucus Entertainment Night featuring a poker tournament and casino.
