Amalric to attend Taiwan awards

French actor shoots 'Last Days'

HONG KONG — James Bond villain Mathieu Amalric will tread the red carpet at Golden Horse Awards to be held in Taiwan Dec. 6.

The French actor will join previously announced guests, including China actresses Zhao Wei and Zhou Xun, at the 45th edition of the awards.

The actor, last seen as the villain Dominic Greene in “Quantum of Solace,” will also be in Taichung City lensing scenes for “The Last Days of the World.”

Pic, about a man’s search for a lost love in the midst of a worldwide apocalypse, is a co-production between French company Soudaine Compagnie and Estrategia Audiovisual of Spain.

The Euros 9.9 million ($12.7 million) production is helmed by the directing duo of Arnaud and Jean-Marie Larrieu.
