Singapore fest creates new series

Next event takes place April 14-25, 2009

The Singapore Film Festival is creating new awards for local films at its 2009 edition, which runs April 14-25.

The Singapore Film Awards, presented as part of the fest’s Silver Screen Awards section, will give kudos for best film, director, screenplay, performance and cinematography.

Fest also announced that it has relocated its headquarters to The Substation, the contemporary arts center which also doubles as the venue for future editions of the event.

“Setting up our festival secretariat office at The Substation and expanding our partnership is a natural move for us because both our organizations play a large and important part in making the Singapore film community what it is today,” said fest director, Wahyuni A. Hadi.
