Beta Cinema nabs rights to ‘Bride’

Film put together by 'Twin Sister' team

Germany’s Beta Cinema has picked up international sales rights to Dutch B.O. hit “Bride Flight.”

Pic was put together by the team that produced the 2003 foreign-language Oscar nominee “Twin Sisters”: helmer Ben Sombogaart, screenwriter Marieke van der Pol and producers Hanneke Niens and Anton Smit of IDTV.

It was inspired by the KLM “Bride Flight” air race between London and New Zealand.

Recent release in the Netherlands by A Film Distribution notched B.O. of over $1.5 million in its first two weeks. Pic will next be released in Oz and New Zealand by Hopscotch Films.
