“Yo Gabba Gabba” producer Wildbrain has tapped Marge Dean to head up its animation studio.
As general manager of Wildbrain Animation Studios, Dean replaces Andrea Mansour, who’s departing this fall to live closer to her family in Atlanta.
Dean, who started in Wildbrain’s San Francisco office Monday, will report to prexy-CEO Charles Rivkin.
She’ll oversee physical production for Wildbrain Animation Studios’ animated product and work closely with head of creative Bob Higgins.
Dean’s resume includes stints at Warner Bros. Animation and Sony TV Animation, where she helped the studio make the transition to digital.
She served as VP of animation at Technicolor and launched Omation Studios’ TV division, where she exec produced Nickelodeon’s Emmy-nommed “Back at the Barnyard.”
Dean began her career as a production manager on “The Ren and Stimpy Show.”
Rivkin called Dean “one of the most respected producers in the animation industry” and said he was particularly impressed by her knowledge of outsourcing and overseas production.
Wildbrain’s animated output includes the Disney Channel series “Higglytown Heroes” and animated segments on “Yo Gabba Gabba.” Outside the kids realm, the company has produced animated commercials for Coca-Cola, Honda, Kraft and Nike, among others.
