French network launches cartoon series

PARIS — French TV network M6 is launching “Le Petit Nicolas,” a 3-D animated series adapted from the popular children’s book created in 1959 by Rene Goscinny, illustrated by Jean-Jacques Sempe. 

Series’ 52 episodes of 12 minutes will preem in September, to celebrate the 50th anni of the book.

Series, which is produced by M6’s production arm, M6 Studio, and Method Animation, has been picked up by HBO Latin America, Greece’s Rosebud, Germany and Romania’s D Production, Poland’s Best Films and Germany’s ZDF.
