Shows being redubbed into French
TOKYO — Toei Animation has licensed the DVD rights to 143 segs of its signature “One Piece” series to Kana Home Video.Kana will distrib in France, Belgium, the Netherlands and various French-speaking territories. Toei Animation is re-dubbing the series into French as part of the deal. The “One Piece” skeins, starring a boy on a quest to become King of the Pirates and discover a hidden treasure called One Piece, launched in 1999 and has since racked up more than 340 episodes. It airs in 13 countries. Kana Home Video is a subsid of the Dargaud-Lombard media group. Founded in 1956, Toei Animation is Japan’s oldest toon house, with 189 TV series and 172 features in its catalog as of March 2007.
