TOKYO — Nippon Television Network, talent shop Yoshimoto Kogyo and ad shop Dentsu are co-producing a Web-based show.The show will follow Yoshimoto’s comedian Kanpei Hazama as he sails, hikes and jogs around the globe on a two-year solo expedition, starting in December. NTV will film Hazama’s adventures and upload them daily to a video blog. The network will also have the right to edit the footage for terrestrial TV specials. This is not the first such experiment for NTV. Last November the network began broadcasting the first blog drama — “Okinawa otoko nigeta” (My Guy Escaped to Okinawa). The heroine poured out her feelings about her photographer boyfriend’s disappearance on a daily blog, with video segments. NTV then broadcast shows based on the blog on its terrestrial strand, as well as offering them on its Internet and mobile phone services.
