Production to begin later this year

BUENOS AIRES — Toon house Encuadre, the shingle behind TV series including “City Hunters” for Fox Latin America, is preparing a $3.5 million pic tentatively called “Olocoons, mision a la tierra,” with Mexico’s Televisa and Antoni Sole’s ABS Film of Spain.

Encuadre CEO Rosanna Manfredi expects production to begin later this year to dovetail with the fifth season of the “Olocoons” series on Televisa, with a simultaneous release in 2010 in Argentina and Mexico and possibly other territories.

Series, about aliens struggling to save the planet, has pulled in strong numbers on Televisa. It is sponsored by Mexican bread maker Bimbo.

Guido Rud’s FilmSharks, of Buenos Aires, has picked up international rights for pic.
