HONG KONG — Hong Kong Disneyland has unveiled Art of Animation, which aims to educate parkgoers about the toon process.
The attraction consists of a life-size Zoetrope, a mechanism that creates an illusion of motion from the rapid movement of static pictures. It takes visitors through the history of Disney toons, running from cel animation classics such as “Snow White” through CGI pics including “Toy Story” and “Ratatouille.”
Art of Animation is the last of four improvements for this year. The theme park has been plagued by poor attendance and license fee disagreements with Disney since its opening in 2005, as well as criticisms that it is too small.
