Cinetic Rights Management, the digital arm of John Sloss’ Cinetic Media, will put some of its catalog of independent films on Amazon’s video-on-demand service and CreateSpace, the online retailer’s DVD on Demand label.
Certain titles will be exclusively available through the effort, which launches with Dave McLaughlin’s drama “On Broadway,” starring Joey McIntyre and Eliza Dushku.
CRM and Amazon will also curate a slate of 20 pics each month. For November, the package includes Rob Epstein’s Oscar-winning docu “The Times of Harvey Milk” and Vern Oakley’s romance “A Modern Affair,” starring Stanley Tucci.
“We’re going to figure out each month which films from our slate are the best fit for Amazon,” said CRM’s Matt Dentler. “One of our strengths as curators and agents will be to diversify our offerings across various platforms.”
Titles will cost $2.99 for a seven-day rental or $9.99 for purchase.
